Superman: American Alien is a 2016 Superman comic series written by Max Landis and penciled by various artists. The "Chronicle" scribe, who is the son of "Animal House" and "Blues Brothers" director John Landis, might just have a future in comedy. "The Death and Return of Superman," Landis' curse-filled diatribe and accompanying no-budget reenactment of the story arc, features Mandy Moore as Lois Lane, Elijah Wood as Cyborg Superman, and a few other recognizable faces, in addition to Landis. And, by wacky comic book standards, that's really saying something. The events that followed the death of the the world's most recognizable superhero were some of the most ridiculous and laughable in the medium's history.
